Residents of Redwood Crescent in Beeston have won their campaign to stop developers building on the communal green space in the middle of their road. MP Anna Soubry met with residents in April and gave them her full support in trying to convince Broxtowe Borough Council to stop developers taking away their communal land. She also called for the council to explore improving the land to make the most of the space available.
Following a campaign, Broxtowe Borough Council has agreed to listen to residents plans for improving the green space for community use whilst also working on a new scheme.
Following the decision Anna said: "I have been keen to support the residents - we agreed some housing was acceptable as long as the remaining community land was greatly improved. I also want better parking in the area." Anna added, "well done to Broxtowe councillors for listening."
