Anna Soubry MP has written to the Secretary of State for Communites and Local Government, Rt Hon Sajid Javis MP, to ask for more support to protect Broxtowe's Green Belt after the Local Authority lose an appeal to prevent poor quality development on Field Farm.
Residents and councillors universally criticized the development plans for Field Farm and Broxtowe's Conservative Borough Council rejected the proposals. The developer appealed the decision and despite strong opposition from residents, councillors and campaign groups, the Planning Inspector will allow the building to go ahead.
Anna's letter asks the Secretary of State to make sure more support is given to Broxtowe Borough Council who are bound into decisions made to build on Green Belt land by the previous Labour and the Liberal Democrat coalition
