Parliament's computer network suffered a serious and sustained cyber-attack which has resulted in a small number of email accounts being compromised. Anna's account was compromised during this attack. Unfortunately, we do not know if your correspondence has been directly accessed or have any information about the motive of the attack.
Anna would like to reassure you that Parliament takes the protection of people’s personal data very seriously and we understand the implications both to you as an individual and to us in the House of Commons. Along with the National Crime Agency and National Cyber Security Centre, Parliament is currently investigating what happened and has already taken steps to ensure that this kind of attack doesn’t succeed again in the future.
We are very sorry this incident has occurred and if you have any further questions please get in touch.
